The upcoming live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid will feature updated versions of some of the classic songs to modern times. Composer Alan Menken, who also worked on the original animated film, revealed the news in a recent interview. Menken did not specify which songs would be updated or how they would be changed, but fans are eagerly waiting to hear how the soundtrack will be updated for a new generation. The film stars Halle Bailey as Ariel and Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric and is set to hit theaters in May 2023.
