Indian cricketer Shardul Thakur tied the knot with his ladylove Mittali Parulkar on Monday (February 27) in Mumbai and become the third mainstream Indian cricketer to tie the knot in 2023 after KL Rahul and Axar Patel. The official social media handles of Shardul’s IPL franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and his former team, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), shared images from the ceremony to confirm the wedding. Many of Shardul’s teammates were in attendance at the wedding ceremony. The likes of Indian captain Rohit Sharma , KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer , and Abhishek Nayar were in attendance at the Sangeet ceremony held on Sunday. Shardul and Mittali have been dating each other for a long period of time and finally got engaged in November 2021. Despite being a regular starter for Team India in overseas Tests, Shardul barely features in home Test matches and was not picked in the squad for the four Test series against Australia. Shardul will return to the national set up for the three-match ODI series against Australia in June. Shardul has played a total of 8 test matches, 34 ODIs, and 25 T20Is for the Indian team.
