On the occasion, PM Modi spoke about how crises like the Covid pandemic and the Ukraine-Russia war impacted the world, particularly developing nations. Both leaders highlighted India and Germany’s thriving bilateral relationship and expressed their interest in further expanding the overall bilateral relations in a number of key areas, including new technologies, clean energy, and trade and investment. This visit was Scholz’s first official visit to India since taking over as Chancellor of Germany in December 2021.
