Australia Women, the defending T20 and ODI world champions and the 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medalist, have been the team to beat over the past three years. They have lost only two matches since losing the 2017 ODI World Cup semifinal to India on their way to winning the cup last year. They have lost the same number of matches in T20Is since lifting the trophy in 2020 on their way to the semifinal. India have come close to defeating them in the recent past and did register a win against them in the five match bilateral series last December in Mumbai. The Indian women’s cricket team will be looking to build on this as they take the field on Thursday to face the formidable Australian side. India have a good mix of experienced and young players and will be looking to use their talent and skill to give the Australians a run for their money.
