On Monday, Alia Bhatt and veteran actor Rekha met up on the red carpet of the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival in Mumbai. Alia won the Best Actress award for her titular role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, while Rekha received the ‘Outstanding Contribution In The Film Industry’ award. The two posed together for the paparazzi with their trophies on the red carpet. Alia was dressed in a white saree, while Rekha wore a golden saree and her signature bun hairstyle with a gajra (flower garland). Alia had a successful year in 2022, appearing in four films, including her debut in the Telugu film RRR and her debut as a producer with the Netflix film Darlings. Alia was last seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva with Ranbir Kapoor, and will be making her Hollywood debut this year. Rekha’s last film role was in the 2014 film Super Nani, and she had a special appearance in the films Shamitabh and Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se.
