Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has been facing criticism from Twitter users for praising the movie Bakasuran. Anurag had shared the posters of the movie on Twitter and had congratulated the director and his friend who stars in the film. The movie has been described as ‘regressive’ and ‘problematic’ by the Hindustan Times review. People have accused Anurag of promoting a ‘pathetic movie’ and ‘victimising women’ by lauding the movie. Bakasuran stars Selvaraghavan, Tharakshi, Natarajan Subramaniam (Natty) and Gunanithi among others. The film has also been produced by Mohan G and the music for the film has been composed by Sam C S.
