The NSE Indices Limited’s Index Maintenance sub-committee (equity) recently decided to make replacement of stocks in various indices as part of its periodic review. As a result, Adani Group’s two companies, Adani Wilmar and Adani Power, are set to be included in the National Stock Exchange of India’s Nifty indices from 31 March 2023. Adani Wilmar will be included in Nifty Next 50 Index, with ABB India Ltd, Adani Wilmar Ltd, Canara Bank, Page Industries, and Varun Beverages Ltd also being included in the index. Adani Power will be included in the Nifty Next 500 Index and Nifty Midcap 150 Index, and Aarti Industries Ltd, Adani Power Ltd, Apar Industries Ltd, and 14 other companies will be included in the Nifty 500 index. There will also be replacements in Nifty500 Multicap 50:25:25 index and Nifty Midcap 100. Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ended down by half a percent on Friday due to selling in financial and IT shares.
