The third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia could move out of Dharamsala due to concerns regarding the outfield and the side area of the pitch. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already shortlisted four other venues, in case the game does move out of Dharamsala. The BCCI conducted an inspection regarding the same on February 3 and a final decision will be taken after the curator inspects the venue on Sunday, February 12. The HPCA is hopeful that with still almost three weeks to go, they might be able to ready the ground just in time. The HPCA Stadium last hosted an international match in February 2022 when the hosts took on Sri Lanka in two T20Is at the venue. According to ESPNCricinfo, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, Pune and Indore have been identified as the four backup venues, in case the match does move out of one of the most scenic cricket grounds in the world.
