A study conducted by the Hebrew University Business School has revealed that when a depressed person is listened to in silence, it can increase their anxiety. The study was conducted by dividing 100 students into two groups of 50 each, and the results showed that people with depression felt socially rejected when they were listened to in silence, thus increasing their anxiety. It was found that the same did not stand true for people who were narcissistic and did not give value to others.
