Arsenal have moved ahead of La Liga giants Real Madrid in the race to sign highly-rated young defender Ivan Fresneda. It is claimed that Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta has personally spoken to the player, helping convince him that a move to north London is the best for his career. The player is said to be set to fly to the English capital in the next few days. Furthermore, the Gunners are in ongoing talks with Spezia to sign Polish centre-back Jakub Kiwior, reportedly attracting interest from the likes of Juventus and AC Milan. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano delivered an update on the deal, claiming that Arsenal are closing in on the deal with a fee in excess of €20m. Additionally, Arsenal have agreed a fee of £21million plus add ons with Brighton for winger Leandro Trossard and the player’s agent Josy Comhair has spoken out on how the Gunners’ move for Trossard transpired.
